Thakur Institute of Aviation Technology (TIAT) has been established in March 2006, primarily to cater to the need of students desirous of pursuing aviation industry. It provides the best infrastructure facilities matched by equally competent teaching faculty & a right academic ambience to make learning a delightful experience.
The institute is approved by Directorate General of Civil Aviation (D.G.C.A), Govt. of India, Vide Letter No. Q3 TIAT / 1392 dated 24/03/2006, (Issue No. 01, Rev No. 03, Dated 05-12-2012) Q3 TIAT / 5814 dated 21/11/2006, Q3 TIAT / 3629 dated 17/06/2008 under category 'G' Training School, to impart ab-initio training in the field of Aircraft Maintenance Engineering for obtaining Basic Licence in, Mechanical Stream: Heavy Aeroplane (HA), Light Aeroplane (LA) ,Jet Engine (JE) and Piston Engine (PE) Mechanical Stream: Rotary Wing (RA), Jet Engine (JE) and Piston Engine (PE) and Avionics Stream : Electrical System (ES), Instrument System (IS) and Radio Navigation System (RN).
With latest amendment introduced by DGCA, Govt. of India, New Delhi, effective from 01 March 2018 it is essential to harmonize training requirements for the maintenance training organizations to international standards which is based on EASA (European Aviation Safety Agency) Part 147, for imparting the basic training to the students of Aircraft Maintenance Engineering as per CAR 147 (Basic) which includes Categories:-
- B1.1 (Heavy Aero plane & Turbine Engine),
- B1.3 (Helicopter & Turbine Engine) and
- B2 (Avionics)
As reflected in mission statement the TIAT has set upon itself a responsibility of providing quality comparable to international standards and preparing students for aviation industry. To meet the quality assurance requirement, institute has opted for ISO 9001:2008 from BSI (British Standard Institution). To ensure quality education, management is committed to render quality technical education & is striving continually to improve its effectiveness by taking relevant measures.
